- Shared system registrars
While Abacus has more sub-systems, their full interoperability is achieved by building a common system of registers, ie. Registry Data chart of accounts, clients, parties, organizational units, currency, exchange rate, product and service … All data is stored in the system passing through checking consistency of certain codes in the system registry.
Maintenance is provided by a register of authorized users and at several levels.
It provides for the acquisition of data is done directly with the source documents in the business process, so there is no subsequent entry. The data once entered into the system (anywhere in the business network) is available immediately to all authorized users of the system. All transactions record in both domestic and foreign currency with recording the date and time of entry, date processing, date and value date accounting changes.
- Unique interface
All data-entry modules and reports reference a single database. They are the same for staff who work in different divisions of the bank (loans, deposits, branches, accounting, …) so bank do not need training to employees in case of change of position.
- Scalability and portability
Abacus® is as easily implemented and applied in large and small banks. The number of end-users of the system is limited by the number of licenses for the software system. Volume data is only limited by storage of the central server.
- Robustness and changeable size
Abacus® is a robust, processing end-of-the-day, decade and month-end to the modern servers for 10 minutes. Processing end-of-the-year takes up to 30 minutes.
Creating new bank products is very simply. Management of chart of accounts and bank products enables bank to create new portfolios easy. Authorization system is build at 3 levels: operating system, database and application level.
Consistency of related data is guaranteed. Oracle’s security systems and technologies (Real Application Clusters, Active Data Guard, Standby sites) guarantee zero loss of data
